When Was The Last Time You Thought About Sealing Your Concrete?
What is concrete sealer and why is it important to use?
Concrete sealers are coatings applied to concrete to protect it from corrosion. They either block the pores in the concrete to reduce absorption of water and salts or form an impermeable layer which prevents such materials from passing.
Let’s face it, at $6-$15 a square foot, installing concrete can become quite expensive. One of the best ways you can protect your investment is to have it sealed or resealed every 2 years or so.
How do you know when it’s time to reseal?
When water no longer beads up on the surface it’s time to have the sealer reapplied.
What type of concrete sealer should I use?
Not all concrete sealers are created equal, you can’t expect to go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and get the industries best concrete sealer. This is another instance where you get what you pay for.
We here at Solid Impressions use some of the best concrete sealers on the market today.
Here is what occurs when we seal your concrete.
First, we spend an hour or two power washing the concrete to remove dirt, oils and stains, which brightens up the surface quite a bit and gives us a nice clean canvas to work with.
After the concrete dries, we apply not 1, but 2 coats of our signature sealer, which creates a protective barrier against water, oil stains, dirt and much more.
We also have an optional auto-reseal program, in which we notify you every 2 years or so that your concrete is in need of resealing. Perfect for those of us that are very busy.
Finally, concrete sealing is one of the easiest and most economical services that you can employ to protect your concrete for years to come.
Price Point: 75 cents – $1.25 a square foot.

Ewwwww, right?
Concrete preparation is highly important, a step you CANNOT skip. Many people are completely unaware of this vital step and their epoxy coating starts to peel up in a matter of months. We ground this concrete floor down to a nice clean surface in order to apply our Lifetime Warranty Epoxy Chip System. First down is the beginning coat of epoxy/primer. After that, we applied the customers color choice of epoxy chips, called Dolphin blend.
Here it is after we applied the chips:
Next, we scrape off the excess chips to make it less rough and apply the top clear coat.
Nice, huh?
This project took 2 days to complete, however we do offer 1 day installation also.
Here are a few other color combinations available:

From Drab To Fab!
We started with a concrete slab that had an existing brown stain that had become worn, scratched and dull. Here it is:
Pretty isn’t it?
We started by preparing the concrete surface by grinding to remove as much of the old stain as possible.
The customer chose a nice bright green color called Lichen for the stain. After applying the stain, the floor looked like this:
At this point, it is very easy to start wondering, “What have I done?!” This isn’t exactly what I had in mind!” We at Solid Impressions a lot of times have to reassure the customer that once we apply the sealer, the color really melds together and becomes perfect.
See!
There you have it! A beautifully stained floor that pops with color ready for many years of use.
Floor Care: Mop when needed and re-wax every 6 months or so, depending on use.
Price Point: $2.50+
